As a part of our ongoing series on former LegalWise participants who are now running their own legal practices, John E. Roach of RAM Law PLLC reflects on his experiences and how LegalWise can help aspiring independent legal professionals like you.

What would you say to someone thinking about applying?

Applying to join the incubator program was probably the best decision I made in terms of growing and developing my legal practice. The program provided invaluable mentorship, referrals, and assistance on all facets of starting and growing a legal practice. I cannot overstate how important CCLI/Legalwise was to growing my practice.

Before you encountered LegalWise, how did you feel about starting a practice?

Before joining CCLI/Legalwise, I was unsure about many aspects to starting a law practice.

What did you learn in your time with us that was most helpful?

I learned a ton about the nuts and bolts of running a successful practice. This included learning more about the law in my practice areas from mentors but also learning a lot about the business side of the practice.

What are you doing now?

I am practicing family law and landlord-tenant law at the same law firm and have expanded that practice significantly since first joining CCLI/Legalwise.
