Michelle Furrer and Carolyn Gilbert, Attorneys and Co-Founders
Michelle Furrer is a partner at the law firm GF Northwest Law, PLLC, where she practices in the areas of land use, environmental law, and litigation. A 2023 graduate of Mitchell Hamline School of Law, Michelle completed her degree through the blended-learning enrollment option as she continued to live and work with her husband—also a Mitchell Hamline graduate—on their family cattle farm in Monroe, Washington. Before law school, Michelle was a Spanish teacher.
After law school, Michelle served as a Legal Resident for Justice Anna K. McKeig at the Minnesota Supreme Court and as a Law Clerk for Judge Edirin O. Okoloko in the Snohomish County Superior Court. She co-founded GF Northwest Law with her friend Carolyn Gilbert, a UC Berkeley School of Law graduate who spent eight years as an environmental and civil litigator at a large international law firm before returning to her home in rural Skagit County.
GF Northwest is dedicated to providing comprehensive services in land use and environmental law, with a focus on agricultural and natural resources industries, as well as rural growth and development. The firm also offers general civil litigation services. It serves rural counties in the northwest area of Washington State.
